Why Maid Insurance may become an Obligation

By Alice Sy

Insurance companies seem to be booming nowadays, everything can now be insured. While it is expected for family members to get insurance plans for one another, there is another member of the household that also needs special protection, the maid. A Maid Insurance has been invented to secure a two-party protection and in the future this just might also be indispensable.

Insurance greatly benefits the maid. Aside from a fair compensation, medical expenses from accidents and hospitalization need not be financially shouldered. There are wide varieties with inclusions to choose from in many plans. Their goal is unified to help and protect the maid in situational financial spending in the future.

Maid insurance does not limit benefits financially. When a maid knows she's insured, she'll be more likely to work better and happier. For the employer this is an added positive image. At the end of the day, everyone works harmoniously and fulfills responsibility.

As for the employer, the insurance plan may involve covers against financial loss and medical reimbursements involving the maid. Some even extend to the loss incurred when a maid leaves due to natural inability to work such as accidents. Extensive plans even include the coverage of a third party damage in the event of an accident. A good plan offers coverage of a re-hiring fee from an agency due to the loss of the maid from any natural reason. Aside from insurance policies which may vary, the employer is assured to handle any kind of loss or accident the maid can possibly encounter in the future.

There are requests by some labor groups in governments to force employers to subscribe to maid insurance. This is because maids are recognized as legal workers also and must have the same rights. Sure it can be quite costly but there are actually long term benefits which can come uncompromised in the future. While both parties can have their sides of advantage whatever the insurance package, no amount can pay one's good reputation and worry-free outlook in the future.
